Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 288: Landscapes

Our theme this week is Landscapes and we’d love to see what fantastic landscape photos you can take! The opportunities for landscape photography are plentiful. This week, practice looking for new and unusual landscape photography compositions. How can you make your landscape scenes more engaging? Perhaps you will use interesting foreground, or an unusual perspective. Maybe you will try long exposure techniques to capture movement in a scene. You may even decide to use black and white for drama and mood in your landscape images. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for great photos of landscapes endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images you can create.

Last week’s theme was Plants and Fungi – and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is this image, captured by Zoltan Dobany: ‘I take my macro photos in a nearby oak, usually in the early morning hours, after rain.’

This lovely image showcases some very interesting fungi with a new and unusual perspective. The composition of this shot is highly effective and engaging, bringing us low down to be able to see into an exciting macro world that is both fascinating and otherwise unseen. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
