The Castle houses the City's main art collection, as hung in the Long Gallery, above. The Castle only reopened last year, after a £30m refurbishment. It seems there are some longstanding management issues, and the collections are still the property of the city council. But there's obviously uncertainty now over where they can be displayed. It's more evidence of the coming crisis for regional UK museum funding. More here.
