Himchan (ex-B.A.P) facing a 3rd sexual assault case, admits to sexually assaulting 2 women in 2022

Former B.A.P member Himchan is now facing a potential third sexual assault charge, as he’s currently being investigated while his second case is in progress. His legal problems date back to 2019, when he was accused of sexual assault, and later was sentenced to 10 months in prison. Five days after the conclusion of the appeals trial for that case in which he admitted the charges, he was accused again of sexually assaulting two women. Additionally, he had a drunk driving charge in 2020. Well, things appear to have repeated himself, as Himchan has admitted to forcing himself on the two women last year, and it was then revealed he’s facing a third sexual assault charge. His lawyer requested that both cases be merged and wanted the trial to be private, but that was denied. Last April, he assaulted two women in the outside staircase of a bar in Hannam-Dong, Seoul. At the trial that day, Himchan’s lawyer acknowledged the charges and stated, “We are trying to come to an agreement with the victim and urge the trial to proceed.” It was also revealed that day that an investigation into another sex-related crime involving HImchan was underway. Before the trial, Himchan’s side submitted a written opinion requesting a merger review of the case, which will be sent to the prosecution this week. Himchan’s lawyer submitted a written opinion to the court stating, “Please proceed with the trial privately,” but the court did not accept it.Judge Kim drew the line, stating, “In cases of sexual assault, there are cases where they are conducted privately if the victim wishes, but today’s trial is not in the position to do that.” Most of all, HImchan is facing public wrath as he has already been tried for the third time for forced indecent assault. There’s nothing really to say at this point. The compensation to the women is a point of contention at the moment, and while I realize it’s factor in sentencing, the real issue is that he’s clearly a sexual predator at this point and needs more than a slap on the wrist. Himchan is simply a danger to women in Korea, as the four potential victims in a three-year span is only those who came forward. Clearly there needs to be a punishment more serious than giving them money and spending less than a year in prison.
