‘Dear Jinri’, the late Sulli’s last project, will premier at Busan International Film Festival + trailer released

After much speculation, the late Sulli‘s final project will make its premier as Dear Jinri at the 28th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), according to the festival’s chief programmer Noh Dong Cheol. The organizers mentioned this work as a “captivating subject” and explained that it includes the last interview of the late Sulli. According to the description, ‘Dear Jinri’ includes an in-depth interview that Sulli had in 2019, which is said to be her last interview before her passing. The interview and work was initially done for a Netflix series called Persona: Sulli. It would be the second season of the short film series with one actress and four different directors, with the first starring her close friend, IU. —— I’m not going to lie, I’m curious as to what she shared in the interviews for this project, as I felt she had a unique view of things worth listening to. Obviously though, this is a sensitive subject and I don’t pretend to know what she or her family/friends would want regarding this, so I just hope it’s all handled well and the documentary does her justice. I also hope her fans, and those impacted by mental health and/or suicide at large, take care with regards to viewing this release and dealing with what comes out of it. Like seriously, please consider before engaging, because every time I’m forced to broach the topic on the site (which has been too often over the years), the reactions do elicit a bit of dread and concern. Be well, for real. —— Anyway, BIFF recently debuted a trailer for the project as well.
